The Blytheville Police Department was investigating a murder scene on Tuesday, April 28th when they were interrupted by a report of a nearby accident. The cops had responded to a report of a man who was found not breathing on Elm Street in Blytheville Tuesday afternoon. There they found 33-year old Deanthony Perry. They quickly identified his death as a homicide. However, they were not able to conduct their investigation.
Within minutes of arriving at the murder scene, the police were called to the scene of an accident just blocks away. Apparently, a man driving his dirt bike in the Southbound lanes of First Street ran a stop sign. At the time, he was trying to pass a vehicle that was stopped at the intersection.
At the moment the rider ran the stop sign, a 2012 Freightliner was legally passing through the intersection. As the driver – identified as 20-year old Racerrius Dequanne Wilson – entered the intersection, he smashed into the passenger side of the 18-wheeler. His bike hit the wheels of the tractor-trailer.
Wilson was seriously injured in the crash and was transported to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis. There has been no update on his condition. Sadly, the passenger on his dirt bike was not so lucky. 18-year old Micha Michelle Williams did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing. Witnesses gathered around the crash scene and, for some reason, refused to disperse. The police had to arrest a few of them for disorderly contact. There is no indication that they knew the accident victims or had anything to do with the crash.
