The police never want to arrive at a crash scene and find that someone has passed away. This is even harder when the victims are teenagers. That was sadly the case this past week near Ogden, Arkansas.
The police arrived at a scene on Little River County Road 70 yesterday. It was about 6 am on Sunday, June 21. The crash only involved one vehicle. It had been traveling East on the county road when the driver lost control of the car. The car ended up flipping over and landing upside down on the side of the road.
The person driving the car was 18-year old Hannah Sisemore of Ashdown, Arkansas. She had three other teenage passengers in the car with her. Two of her passengers were ejected from the car. 20-year old Jonathan Gaines was ejected and is said to have died from his injuries on impact. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
A second passenger, 22-year old Kendrick Wilson of Ogden was also ejected from the vehicle. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. Along with him were the driver and the third passenger – 21-year old Alex Johnston-Wise of Texarkana.
The three survivors were taken to Christus St. Michael’s Medica Center in Texarkana. There has been no update on their status.
The police are still investigating the crash. They have not indicated if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. They did confirm that no other vehicles were involved. At this time of day, there weren’t many people on Little River County Road 70.
