Super Lawyers Rating Significance
Super Lawyers uses a multiphase patented selection process for attorney selection and Super Lawyer designation are made on an annual and state-by-state basis. Below we’ve outlined the major steps completed in order for an Attorney to receive the much sought-after Super Lawyer designation.
- First Step: Lawyers are asked to nominate peers they’ve seen in action that year. They cannot nominate themselves.
- Second Step: Each candidate is evaluated on twelve indicators including but not limited to their recent verdicts, settlements, honors, awards and professional activity.
- Third Step: A Peer evaluation by practice is completed also referred to as the “blue ribbon review.”
- Fourth Step: For candidates that pass the blue ribbon a final audit of the candidates standing with local licensing is completed and then selection is finalized.
The objective is to create comprehensive, diverse and credible listing of attorneys that have met the stringent criteria as set forth by the multiphase selection process. Consumers should feel confident when using the Super Lawyers listing as a resource when searching for legal counsel.
