Man Charged in Deadly Crash in Clinton, Arkansas

Sometimes, justice for car accident victims comes a lot later than we would think. The family of Brian Tyler Wynn may finally see justice now that charges have been filed against the man who was driving the car last summer when he died.

On August 24, 2019, Wynn and a friend of his, 30-year old Jay Blanset of Tyronza Poinsett were out for the night. They had gone to a couple different bars and were drinking alcohol. Their yellow SUV was involved in a crash that would prove deadly for Wynn.

The car was traveling on Humeston road at about 10 pm when the driver lost control of the vehicle. He was trying to negotiate a curve and ended up crashing and landing in a ditch.

The cops were dispatched to the scene. When they got there, they found Wynn on the side of the road, unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital but would later die from his injuries.

The cops assumed Blansett was driving. However, he denied this fact. At first, he said Wynn was driving. At the accident scene, Blansett appeared to have bloodshot eyes and also smelled of alcohol. He failed the field sobriety test as well. Yet, he insisted he wasn’t the one driving so he was not charged or arrested at the time.

Now, more than a year later, he has been arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle while intoxicated. Witnesses place him behind the wheel at the time of the crash. The man has now admitted as much.

In addition to criminal charges, the family of Brian Wynn will likely file a wrongful death suit.
